Birch Lane students in Massapequa display artwork at state conference

The Birch Lane School community announced that two of its students were selected to display their artwork at the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) Conference at the Sheraton in New York City. Students from schools across New York state submitted their work, and Birch Lane students Ryan McMahon, and Laura Marques were among those whose work was selected. McMahon created a floral design in pastels inspired by renowned artist Georgia O'Keefe. Marques created a mixed media butterfly piece.

The honored Birch Lane artists, students in Art Educator Dorothy Veltre's class, attended a reception with their families in their honor. Also in attendance were Birch Lane Principal Joyce Becker-Seddio and Ms. Veltre.

Shown is Ryan McMahon and Principal Joyce Becker-Seddio.
