For the month of February paintings and sketches by The Tiny Artist Children's Art under the direction of artist/designer Isabelle Rapacciullo will be on display in the Downstairs Gallery.

•The Harbor Lane Library offers programs on an ongoing basis including aerobics and toning classes, Mondays, 7:30 p.m.; Tournament Scrabble, Mondays, 11 a.m..; Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m.; strength training classes for seniors, Monday mornings, 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m; Mah Jongg, Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.; line dancing, Fridays, 10:30 a.m. and Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m. Contact the library for details.

•A Notary Public is available by appointment only at both locations of the Massapequa Public Library.

•Senior Connections Information and Referral Service will be at the Central Avenue Library, Mondays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon and at the Bar Harbor Library, Monday and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to noon. For information call 798-4607, extension 322.

•The Harbor Lane Library will host a seminar on Ira Distribution Strategies for You and Your Beneficiaries, presented by Brian Laibach, Certified Financial Planner, Wed., Feb. 6, 7 p.m.

•For the month of February, portraits by Anthony Casacio will be on display in the gallery.

•On Thurs. Jan. 31, 7 p.m. Kaboom!The History of Special Effects, will be offered Thurs., Jan. 31, 7 p.m. for grades six and up. Clive Young, senior editor of Pro Sound News will give this primer on special effects dating back from the 1800s to today. Registration is underway.

•On Feb. 2, 2 p.m. the Saturday Cinema will offer a movie for all ages with a parent. Bring a snack and join in each Saturday for a different movie. Call the children's department the day before to learn what movie is playing.

•On Sun. Feb. 3, 2 p.m. Synergy String ensemble will offer classical, jazz, rock and popular entertainment.

•The short story group will meet Mon. Feb. 4, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Copies are available at the reference desk.

•The movie Shop Around the Corner will be shown, Mon., Feb. 4, 2 p.m.

•On Tues. Feb. 5, 1 p.m. the Good Mood Diet will be explained by health and wellness specialist Alice Kaufman. Registration is underway.
