Massapequa Kiwanis Club shows the spirit of giving

It was a cold windy morning in the height of the holiday shopping season when a car driven by Nancy Farrell from the Massapequa Kiwanis Club pulled up in front of South Oaks Hospital Child and Adolescent Center of Excellence.

Farrell had certainly been shopping. Her car was loaded down with beautifully wrapped games, books, toys and wonderful surprises for the children and adolescents who would celebrate their holidays in the hospital. Farrell had contacted Director Wayne Rothwell, and asked what the Massapequa Kiwanis could do for the kids. Rothwell shared some appropriate gift ideas and Farrell and her fellow members of the Kiwanis did all the shopping and wrapping.

Rothwell stated, "he was deeply grateful for the generosity of the Massapequa Kiwanis and the time and effort Nancy Farrell devoted to making our kids feel really special."

Shown in the photo, left to right, are Kathleen Behan, member of Kiwanis; Wayne Rothwell, director at South Oaks Hospital and Nancy Farrell, member of Kiwanis.
