Teen Programs to be held at Library during February recess The Massapequa Library's Young Adult Department is offering patrons grade 6 through high school several alternatives during the midwinter break. On Sat., Feb. 16, 2 to 3 p.m. at the meeting room of the Library at 523 Central Ave., Nicholas Rendina will teach part two of his popular origami class. No prior knowledge is necessary. Participants made up to five designs. There is a $3 materials fee, payable at registration, which is now underway in Adult Reference at either building. Also on Sat. Feb. 16, a babysitters' job fair will be offered from 3 to 4 p.m. in the meeting room of the Library at 40 Harbor Ln., Massapequa Park. The fair is intended for teen babysitters and parents looking to employ sitters. There is no registration necessary for this free program. Sitters should bring their certificates. On Wed., Feb. 20, 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Central Avenue Meeting Room, a teen game café will be offered. Participants may play the library's collection of board and card games, or they may bring their own. Pizza and other refreshments will be served. Register in Adult Reference for this free program. Fri., Feb. 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Bar Harbour Auditorium, local crafter Alice Azoulay will teach her High School Musical II craft, a plaque which participants can keep in their school lockers. The craft will be followed by a pizza lunch and a prize raffle. The $4.50 materials fee is payable at registration, which is now underway.
