Farmingdale Hawks win Super Bowl Championship
      The 11-year-old Farmingdale Hawks football team are shown raising their super Bowl trophy after defeating the Massapequa Mustangs 27-12 at John Burns Park, Massapequa. This is the second consecutive year the Hawks have defeated the Mustangs for the title.

Koch selected as the LISRA Referee of the Year
      Longtime Massapequa resident and athletic coach Bob Koch has recently been named a Lifetime Member of the Long Island Soccer Referees Association (LISRA). This honor comes on the heels of his being named Referee of the Year in 2007.
