Ernest Begun, retired N.C. Social Worker Longtime former Massapequa Park resident and loving father and husband Ernest Begun died January 21, 2008 at Cary, North Carolina where he moved in 2006. He was 92 years old. Born August 17, 1915 in New York City to Max Cohen and Rose Ravitch Cohen, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired after many years from the Nassau County Department of Social Services as a social worker. Mr. Begun leaves behind his wife, Beatrice Abel of Cary, North Carolina; his children: Madeleine Kane and her husband Mark of Bayside, New York and Arthur "Art" and his wife Janet of Cary, North Carolina; and his sister, Trudy Brunner of Seal Beach, California.
A private funeral service was held in Cary, North Carolina.
