Farmingdale H.S. to present play March 14 and 15

Farmingdale High School students will be performing the play Bad Seed by Maxwell Anderson on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March15, 7:30 p.m. The community is welcome to come and see the young actors perform in the round at the High School auditorium.

Bad Seed is a controversial play and a psychological thriller. The piece ponders the question of what makes a person do evil things. The play explores the argument of nature versus nurture. This was a difficult show to direct because no students performing in the play were near the type of a "bad seed." In preparation for their roles, the student actors studied Sigmund Freud and his theories, looked at different films and dissected the characterization of such roles. The students rose to the challenge and the production is bound to be a testament to their acting skills.

There will be limited seating for the show so tickets should be bought ahead of time to secure a seat by calling the school at 752-6761, extension 392 and speak with Michele. Tickets will be sold at the door if they are not sold out by that time. Tickets will be $5 for adults, $4 for students and senior citizens will be welcome free of charge. The play is under the direction of Michelle Lindsley.
