Farmingdale Schools receive inspirational message

Paralympian Dennis Oehler was welcomed into the Albany Avenue School in the Farmingdale School District. This inspirational man is a former 100-meter world record holder for below the knee amputees. Oehler shared stories from his life experiences with the fifth-graders of Albany Avenue. His powerful message taught the children to accept people with all types of disabilities and how to make smart choices.

At the end of the assembly Oehler took off his prosthetic leg to show the children the reality of his situation. He then inspired them further by showing them how fast he can run down the hallway. His message was about triumph and perseverance.
