Elections in Massapequa Park Tuesday
With the exception of a large, and unanticipated, write-in vote, the two incumbents are expected to win another two-year term on the board. Village officials are asking that the public take the time to get to the polls and vote, however. . "Even though there's no race, residents should vote to show their support," said Mayor James Altadonna, also a member of the People's Rights First party. He added that he believed the lack of competition this year is due to the fact that residents are generally happy with the job his administration is doing. "If residents are happy with the government, they continue to let them govern...when they be- come unhappy, then it's time for a change," he said.
Trustee Pravato is a New York City Financial Trader who is active in the Massapequa Lions Club. The father of three has lived in the Village with his wife for 12 years. Trustees, who set policy and codes for the Village, earn $5,798 each a year and are eligible for health care benefits. Their term is for two years.
The election is being held at Massapequa Park Village Hall, 151 Front St., Tues., March 18. The polls are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. For absentee ballot information and other information, call 798-0244.
