Purim celebrated at Congregation Beth-El

The holiday of Purim will be celebrated at Congregation Beth-El, Thurs., March 20, 7 p.m. The holiday recalls the threat of extermination to the Jewish community in Persia from the hands of King Achashverosh's minister Haman.

The public is invited to this celebration. It is preceded by a carnival sponsored by the youth groups of Congregation Beth-El from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tues, March 18. Tickets are $10 for a block of 12 tickets for the games.

Congregation Beth-El serves all of Southeast Nassau and Southwest Suffoolk Counties and is the center of traditional Judaism. It is affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and is located at 99 Jerusalem Ave., Massapequa. F further information call 541-0740.
