Karate tournament this weekend in Massapequa

On Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6 the American Black Belt Academy, along with the Worldwide Kenpo Karate Association will host The American Karate Championships 2008. The tournament will be held at Massapequa High School, 4925 Merrick Road and will coincide with the Academy's annual food drive for The St. Rose of Lima Outreach Program.

The event is open to the community. The tournament begins Saturday at 4 p.m. with team demonstrations. Sunday the competition will start again at 10 a.m.

Admission is $8 for adults and $3 for children. Children under five are free. Non-perishable fooddonations will be collected.Donations may also be dropped at 4883 Merrick Rd., Massapequa Park.
