school system is not the answer

Dear Editor:

Tom Suozzi's latest plan to reduce educational costs is nothing more than a veiled attempt to start a countywide school system. The examples cited in Newsday, BOCES and the New York Public School system are hardly performing efficiently. The only real solution is to insist we get a fair return on our investment. Nassau County residents tax contributions are not reflected in the funding our school districts currently receive. Rather than add to the bureaucracy of Nassau County, Albany should give us our fair share and our local taxes will take care of themselves.
