Alison Bossert named senior vice president

Alison Bossert has been named senior vice president, special events for the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group.

Bossert, who began her career at the studio as an assistant for special events at Columbia TriStar Television was most recently vice president, special events for CTMPG. She is responsible for designing and managing more than 30 movie premieres, award show parties and corporate events and retreats a year in Los Angeles and New York for Columbia Pictures.

Bossert recently oversaw nine premieres worldwide for the biggest hit in Columbia Pictures' history, Spider-Man (tm)3; as part of the effort to launch that blockbuster worldwide. Bossert and her accomplished team produced the world premier in Tokyo, the Russian premier in Moscow and the U.S. premier in New York and managed the work of several inter- national agencies on six more. Other significant high impact events recently overseen by Bossert and her team include the roll-out of The DaVinci Code at the Cannes Film Festival, where a tenstory reproduction of the Louvre pyramid was erected harbor-side at the world renowned film festival. Bossert has alaso overseen Columbia's gala presentations for exhibitors at ShoWest in Las Vegas as well as the studio's award show parties for the Golden Globes and Academy Awards.

Bossert joined Sony Pictures Entertainment in 1996 and rose through the ranks from assistant to coordinator to manager, director and most recently, vice president, special events.

Bossert received her bachelor of arts degree in mass communication at Towson University in Maryland and is a 1985 graduate of Massapequa High School. She is the daughter of Philip and Virginia Bossert of Massapequa.
