Tea with Pulitzer Prize winner, Irene Virag, April 16

The Massapequa Park Garden Club will host a tea with Irene Virag on Wed., April 16, 7 p.m. at Massapequa Park Village Hall. The event will combine the group's annual fundraiser with fundraising for breast cancer research.

Pulitzer Prize winner Virag has written articles for numerous magazines including Fine Gardening, Country Gardens and Better Homes and Gardens. She also authors a garden column for Newsday, for which she recently received a Garden Writers Association Gold Award for Best Newspaper Garden column in the country.

Virag is also the author of two books, Gardening on Long island with Irene Virag and We're All in This Together - Families Facing Breast Cancer.

Her appearance at the Massapequa Park Garden Club will be in conjunction with an old-fashioned tea, featuring light finger food, tea and coffee.Part of the $20 ticket will go toward breast cancer research.
