Maria Regina school holds “dress down” day

The students at Maria Regina School held a "dress down" day on Thurs., Jan. 31 to raise money to send supplies to the troops in Iraq. Students at this school usually wear a uniform, but instead paid $2 each to wear New York Giants' jerseys and colors to show their support for the NY Giants making the Super Bowl.

The total collected was $740, which will be used to send over 70 boxes of supplies to Iraq. The entire student body, from nursery through eighth grade, donated granola bars, seeds, nuts, peanut butter, and chap- stick, toothpaste, socks, playing cards and magazines for this enormous shipment.

Each student will also write letters to soldiers thanking them for their service to our country. In addition, each class will offer a "spiritual bouquet" which will last from February through August.
