Free Education Lecture on Balance Disorders offered April 21

New Island Hospital is holding a free lecture for the community on balance disorders, dizziness, vertigo and falling problems and will discuss the New Outpatient Balance Center at the hospital, on Mon., April 21, in the Staff Room at 6:30 p.m.

This informative lecture will be given by Birendra Trivedi, MD a Board Certified Neurologist. A question and answer session will be held after the lecture. The Balance Center will diagnose and treat patients suffering from vertigo, difficulty judg- ing distance, and those with a history of falls as well as those with balance-related symptoms from head injuries, car accidents or work related injuries. Balance testing is quick and painless. Balance and fall prevention has largely been overlooked by the health care industry. New Island Hospital has realized the need for this service and seeks to offer excellent care through this new endeavor. Please call Community Relations at 516-520-2487 to reserve a seat, and visit the website at www.newislandhospital.org.
