Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County to Hold Benefit Auction

The Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County will hold its annual Tolerance Benefit Dinner, featuring a silent and live auction beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Wed., May 7 at Carlyle on the Green, Bethpage State Park, Farmingdale.

The Tolerance Workshops provide thousands of students with the opportunity to learn about the Holocaust from local survivors and liberators and to use these lessons to learn tolerance and respect for others. It is unfortunate that the need for our programs continues to grow. Recurring incidents of hate and bias crimes and concerns with increased bullying in our schools confirm that programs like ours designed to combat this kind of behavior are critical. The lessons of the Holocaust are unique and successfully inspire individuals to evaluate their roles in the world around them.

The funds raised at the Tolerance Benefit will provide funding for Student Tolerance Workshops which are offered to schools free of charge. The success of this event is critical to our ability to offer the program to any school which requests it.

For an invitation or ticket information, please contact Silvana Gullo at 516- 571-8040, ext. 107, email silvanagullo@ holocaust-nassau.org.
