St. David's Lutheran Church soup spoilers cook up Lenten dinner

S t . David's Lutheran Church's cooking group known as "The Soup Spoilers" cooked up 20 gallons of lentil soup for the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN) located in the Freeport Church of God Community Center, 146 Babylon Tpke., Freeport.

According to Ted Ho, the group's captain, about 225 people come every day to have a free hot noon meal at the center.

The INN operates 19 soup kitchens throughout Long Island that are also supported by generous private donors. The INN also provides emergency shelters and supportive services to homeless Long Islanders. Even Thorsen is shown stirring the soup pot while the others in the group take a break.
