MADD Walk For Life to be held June 1

Mothers Against Drunk Driving(MADD) announced recently that its' signature fundraising 5K walk, Walk Like Madd, formerly known as Strides for Change, will be held on June 1 at Farmingdale State College. Everyone is invited. Sign up with a team, form your own team, walk independently or even as a virtual walker and help save lives, enhance awareness and prevent injuries.

There will be food and refreshments, safety/health booths, a kid's zone, a pet zone and a victim's advocacy area available. The walk will be 5 kilometers passing by the Garden of Awareness, a memorial that salutes those who have perished in Long Island from drunk driving.

Drunk driving threatens us all. It is not selective. Each year Nassau and Suffolk Counties continue to have the most alcohol related crashes in the entire state! MADD has made significant gains against drunk driving but too many people are still dying from this violent crime.

You can help eliminate drunk driving by registering to Walk Like MADD and raising money to support MADD as we work for tougher enforcement, stronger laws and new technologies.

To register for Walk Like MADD call Jill Blauvelt, MADD Long Island, 631- 547-6233 or go to ww.walklikemadd. org.
