Local HAMS commemorate Armed Forces Day The Great South Bay Amateur Radio Club will have an amateur radio station, W2GSB set up at The American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport, Farmingdale, Sat. May 17 and Sun. May 18, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Amateur operators from the area will be participating to demonstrate amateur Radio by setting up three stations that will contact other stations throughout the world via shortwave radio. Amateur radio operators provide communications in times of emergency and for special events.
