Disappointed by lack of info from Massapequa School Board Dear Editor: In reaction to the May 7, 2008 Massapequa Post article, "MSD controversy over repair raises debate," a debate did in fact arise at the Massapequa School Board meeting on the evening of May 8. Several individuals attending the meeting questioned the Board concerning the issues raised in the article as to sitting Board member, and current Board candidate, Christine Perrino's effort to charge the district's taxpayers for damage to a musical instrument under the responsibility, care and custody of her child. I am disappointed that the Board, in conformity with its usual practice, refused to provide answers to the public's questions, and mockingly ridiculed the several questioners "not to believe the rumors that you read in newspapers." I am disappointed for numerous reasons, not the least of which is that Ms. Perrino, who was seated at the Board's podium, could easily have provided information to the public to rebut the disturbing facts reported in the Post's article and to justify her conduct. I was not surprised because, as reported in the Post, Ms. Perrino "declined to comment." However, I believe that Ms. Perino's failure to comment or to rebut the reported facts is, in and of itself, an eloquent comment as to the propriety, or lack of propriety, of her reported conduct.
