Lillian Miller: Copiague & Massapequa USPS Employee
Former longtime Amityville resident and local U.S. Post Office employee Lillian Steele Miller died April 24, 2009 at University Hospital in Stony Brook. She was 76 and had lived on Virginia Court in Amityville for many years. She was born Oct. 30, 1932 in Brooklyn to Harold Joseph and Charlotte Letatia (Woods) Rostin. In addition to caring for her family and home, she worked in the U.S. Post Office in Copiague for 26 years and in Massapequa for four until her retirement. Most recently she had lived in Coram. She was an avid boater who had anchored her houseboat "My Last Buck" at Gilgo Beach for many summers. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Gilgo Beach Yacht Club and the Amityville Club.
Lillian Miller She leaves behind her children: Joyce Babjak and her husband Robert and John C. And his wife Virginia; her grandchildren: Laura, Kimberly and Robert Babjak and Clare and John P. Miller; her great granddaughter: Hannah Santosus; her brother: Clifford Rostin; her companion: Al Morel; and her best friend: Diane DaDabo. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years John D. Miller in Oct. 1997. Father Randolph Jon Geminder, rector, St. Mary's Episcopal Church, officiated at a funeral service at the Powell Funeral Home in Amityville. Father Geminder conducted a prayer service followed by interment in Amityville Cemetery.
