Construct a Community Center/Athletic Facility on the remaining portion of the Sylvia Packard Middle School site and a weight room at the High School at a cost not to exceed $4,680,000 from the proceeds of said sale, 3. Establish a capital reserve fund pursuant to Education
Law Section 3651, to be initially funded with the $820,000 balance of proceeds
of said sale and/or transfer from fund balance. NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that any person otherwise qualified to vote who is currently registered to vote in an election district of the County of Nassau or part thereof whose boundaries lie within this school district will be entitled to vote without further registration.
Unless a person is entitled to vote by virtue of such registration in an election district or part thereof whose boundaries lie within the school district, pursuant to Section 2014 of the Education Law, personal registration of voters is required, and no person shall be entitled
to vote at the Special District Meeting whose name does not appear on the register of the district.
The Board of Registration of said school district will meet in the District Office,241 Wyngate Drive, North Massapequa, New York on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 between the hours of 4:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M., prevailing time, at which time and place said Board of Registration will prepare the register of the said school district for the aforesaid Special District Meeting and any person shall have the right to have his name placed on said register who presents himself personally to said Board, provided that at such meeting of the Board of Registration he is known or proven to the satisfaction of such Board of Registration to be then or thereafter entitled to vote at said Special District Meeting for which the register is prepared. The register so prepared shall also include all persons who shall have presented themselves personally
for registration in accordance herewith, and all persons who shall have been previously registered hereunder for any annual or special meeting or election, and who shall have voted at any annual or special meeting or election held or conducted at any time within the four (4) calendar years prior to the preparation of the register. The register shall be filed in the Office of the District Clerk located at 241 Wyngate Lane, North Massapequa, New York, in said school district, and such register will be open for inspection by any qualified voter of said school district during regular business hours on each of the five(5) days prior to and the date set for the said Special District Meeting, except on Saturday (when it will be available for inspection by prior appointment between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon) and on Sunday. No absentee voter's ballot shall be canvassed unless it shall have been received in the Officeof the District Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m., prevailing time, on the day of the Special District Meeting.
