Registration now open for outdoor baseball/softball skills program

Registration is now open for the Town of Oyster Bay Outdoor Baseball/Softball Skills Program, according to Town Councilman Joseph G. Pinto.

"The Outdoor Baseball/SoftballSkills Program, which is being con­ducted by former major league base­ball player Rusty Torres, is designed to assist athletes in developing the proper batting, throwing, running and fielding techniques," Councilman Pinto said. "Open to boys and girls ages fiveto 12, the free instructional sessions will be divided into different age groups and mini-programs focus­ing on specialized training skills." The Councilman went on to say that the four week-long sessions will be held: • July 6-10, Pine Street Park, North Massapequa • July 13-17, Ellsworth W. Allen Town Park, Motor Avenue, Farmingdale

• July 20-24, Clifton Park, Glen Av­enue, Sea Cliff • July 27-31, Ralph J. Marino Field, Berry Hill Road, Oyster Bay

A registration form can be obtained by visiting the Town's Web site, www.oysterbaytown.com, or by contacting the Parks Department, Recreation Di­vision,

at 433-7465 ext. 230. Completed forms should be returned to the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center, Attn: Recreation Baseball/Softball Program, 1001 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714, no later than Friday before the start of the session for which you are register­ing your child(ren). Councilman Pinto noted that registration is open only to Town of Oyster Bay residents.
