•The Harbor Lane Library offers the following ongoing programs: aerobics and toning classes on Mondays, 7:30 p.m.; tournament Scrabble, Mondays, 11 a.m.; Let’s Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Fridays, 1 p.m.; strength training classes, Mondays, 10:30 a.m. and/or Thursday, 10 a.m.; Mah Jongg, Tuesdays, 2 p.m., line dancing instruction, Fridays, 10:30 a.m. and space to play chess, for all ages and levels, Fridays, 2 p.m.

•The Harbor Lane Library will hold its Contemporary Book Discussion Group, Tues., Feb. 9, 12:30 p.m. or Sat. Feb. 13, 1 p.m. This month’s book is Lindbergh by A. Scott Berg.

•The writers’ group will meet Wed., Feb. 3, 7 to 9 p.m. All writers are encouraged to come prepared to read what they have written and to share ideas with others.

•Preschool Pals will be held Thurs., Feb. 4, 10 a.m. for all ages with a parent. Each week a different character will be spotlighted.

•On Sun., Feb. 7, 2 p.m. The Second Chance Players will take you back to the bygone days of television and radio in a simulated old-time radio show. Songs include Sentimental Journey, Can’t Help Loving Dat Man of Mine and more as well as comedy skits from Jack Benny, Carol Burnett and more.

•Registration is underway for Cake Decoration 101 for young adults in sixth grade and up, to be held Tues., Feb. 16, 2 to 3:30 p.m. MaryAnne Impostato will explain the basics of cake decorating and teach how to make a clown cake.

•Registration is underway for an I-Pod case craft for young adults in sixth grade and up to be held Tues., Feb. 16, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thecost is $2 and all materials are included. Bring in your I-Pod, cell phone or other portable electronic device and instructor Alice Azoulay will guide you in creating/ decorating a custom-made, one-of-akind case.

•Registration is underway for all children’s and young adult programs at the Amityville Library for February. Registration may be done online or in the Library with a valid Amityville Public Library Card. Programs are limited to Amityville Public Library patrons.

•The Amityville Public Library will be offering Income Tax preparation assistance4 free of charge, Sundays, 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 14, 21 and 28; March 14 and 21 and April 11.
