offering a $10,000 reward for the safe return of the body of Mattia Filipazzo stolen from St. Charles Cemetery, as well as information leading to arrest and conviction of the perpetrators. Mattia died in 1998 at the age of 87. “As a funeral director, I’m confronted with death everyday. I believe not only in the significance of human life but also, the sanctity of the human soul,” said Sal F. Mangano, vice president. “This crime is utterly deplorable and it demonstrates complete disregard for a life that was lived. It is my wish to see justice served upon the perpetrators but more importantly, peace of mind restored to this family who now must grieve again”. Mangano Funeral Home has also pledged its support to the family by offering services to re-entomb the deceased in the cemetery at no cost. Anyone with information on the incident should contact Suffolk County Police at 631-845-8100.
