On Sat., Aug. 14, the Massapequa Fire Department held it’s 16th Annual Canoe Race at John J. Burns Park. Over 200 people took part in the event. Sponsors such as the Nassau County Sheriff Officers Association, Communications Workers of America and many local business people help the fire department run this fundraiser. This year all money raised went to the Heather Pendergast Fund.
