Robbery in Sunrise Mall, Massapequa

Nassau County Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Massapequa yesterday at approximately 9:30 p.m.
According to detectives, a male subject armed with a black handgun, entered Gold Buyers at 2065 Sunrise Mall, approached the store clerk and demanded jewelry from the safe. The subject complied and was forced into a rear room where he was restrained. The subject then fled in an unknown direction with an unknown amount of jewelry and cash.
The victim suffered minor injuries to his wrists and refused medical attention. The victim was alone in the store at the time of the robbery.
The subject is described as a male black in his early 20s, approximately 6-feet, 10-inches tall, with a dark complexion, heavy muscular build, and wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.
