New Plainedge teachers welcomed to school district

While students try to remember their new locker combinations and where their new classrooms are, there are teachers who are also new to the Plainedge School District.

The teachers were welcomed into the district with a special program called the New Teacher Institute. New superintendent – Dr. Edward Salina – said he shared their excitement for the upcoming year ahead and introduced them to key district administrators.

During the orientation program, the new staff learned about State mandated curricula, were given access to their e-mail accounts and the Gradebook program, and were informed of district policies. The orientation program also included time for the new teachers to tour their respective schools and ask any lingering questions they had about the schools or the district.
