PUBLIC NOTICE TO THE REGISTERED VOTERS AND RESIDENTS OF THE MASSAPEQUA WATER DISTRICT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the Town Law the following Resolution was duly adopted on September 28, 2011 by the Board of Water Commissioners of the Massapequa Water District;

BE IT RESOLVED that the Inspectors of Election of the Massapequa Water District shall meet at the office of the Massapequa Water District, 84 Grand Avenue, Massapequa, New York, on November 29, 2011 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. for the purposes of conducting additional personal registration of voters and preparing the Register of Voters qualified to vote in the annual election of the Massapequa Water District to be held on December 13, 2011 at the Water District’s office, 84 Grand Avenue, Massapequa, New York, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing one Water Commissioner for a term of three (3) years beginning on January 1, 2012 ending on December 31, 2014, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to Article 13 Section 212 of the Town Law as amended, an election of the Massapequa Water District will be held within said District in the office of the Board of Water Commissioners of said District at 84 Grand Avenue, Massapequa, Long Island, New York, on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 between the hours of four (4:00) o’clock p.m. and nine (9:00) o’clock p.m. for the purpose of the election of a Water Commissioner for the said District for a term of three (3) years beginning January 1, 2012 and expiring December 31, 2014. Every voter must be registered in the Town under permanent registration and registered from the address from which he/she wishes to vote in order to be entitled to vote for Improvement District Commissioner. Further, said voter shall have been a resident in the Water District for at least thirty (30) days next preceding the election and be a citizen of the United States, eighteen (18) years or over in age. Pursuant to the provisions and requirements of Subdivision 20 of Section 215 of Article 13 of the Town Law of the State of New York, as amended, candidates for the office of Water Commissioner shall file their names and nominations in petition form with the Secretary of the Board of Water Commissioners of the Massapequa Water District no later than 4:00 p.m. on or before Thursday, November 10, 2011 and that such nomination petitions must be subscribed by at least twenty-five (25) registered voters of the Massapequa Water District. Absentee ballots will be available pursuant to Town Law § 213-b.

In addition, a copy of the proposed budget is posted on the fire district’s website, and copies of the proposed budget will be available on the night of the said hearing. NOW, therefore, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the North Massapequa Fire District will hold the Annual Fire District Budget Hearing to be conducted with reference to the Annual Fire District Budget for fiscal year 2012 on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 commencing at 8:00 p.m. at the Fire Headquarters Building located at Broadway and Albany Avenue, North Massapequa, New York.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the aforesaid budget will be presented to the residents and taxpayers of the North Massapequa Fire District and to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the North Massapequa Fire District, for their respective consideration at this public hearing and for the purpose of considering the said resolution and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 commencing at 8:00 p.m. at the Fire Headquarters Building located at Broadway and Albany Avenue, North Massapequa, New York.
