Massapequa High School varsity football players Kevin Hastings, Jack Korbe and Dan Muller were honored by the Towers of Freedom Military Monument Committee, Inc. for helping raise nearly $1,000 for the creation of a 9/11 memorial at John J. Burns Park. Each athlete received a trophy and a 9/11 commemorative jacket for their efforts.
