When he was a young boy, Daniel Flanagan and his brother took the Long Island Railroad into Nassau County to fish. They were looking for a lake, which they found in Massapequa. When they got off the train, Mr. Flanagan was immediately struck by the beauty of the area. “I’m going to live here one day,” he told his brother.
