AMENDMENTS TO THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF OYSTER BAY
CHAPTER 233, MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC
BE IT ORDAINED, by the Town Board of the Town of Oyster Bay, County of Nassau,
State of New York, that the Code of the Town of Oyster Bay, New York, adopted October
5, 1971, and recodified April 22, 1991, as Chapter 233, as amended, be and the same is
further amended as follows:
That the following locations be ADDED to SECTION 17-25 of the said Code establishing thereunder the following intersections as STOP intersections and stop signs shall be
erected at appropriate places facing traffic on the stop street. All traffic on a stop street approaching a through street from either direction, unless otherwise designated, shall come
to a full stop before entering the through street.

That the following location be DELETED from SECTION 17-35 of the said Code: ONE
WAY STREETS – Bethpage – Central Boulevard – One Way Except School Buses 7 am
to 9am – eastbound – starting at the west curbline of Simone Court, west for a distance
of 98 feet.
That the following locations be ADDED to SECTION 17-152 of the said Code establishing
NO STOPPING ZONES, which shall be appropriately designated by posted signs: BETHPAGE – Thorne Drive – No Stopping Here to Corner -east side – starting at the north
curbline of Central Avenue, north following the curvature of the roadway for a distance
of 65 feet; west side – starting at the north curbline of Central Avenue, north following
the curvature of the roadway for a distance of 85 feet. Emma Street – No Stopping Here
to Corner – north side -starting at the east curbline of Stewart Avenue, east for a distance
of 60 feet. Nibbe Lane – No Stopping Here to Corner – north side – starting at the west
curbline of Lexington Avenue, west for a distance of 40 feet; south side – starting at the
west curbline of Lexington Avenue, west for a distance of 40 feet.
HICKSVILLE – Rhodes Lane – No Stopping Here to Corner – north side – starting at the
west curbline of Clarissa Drive, west for a distance of 40 feet; south side – starting at the
west curbline of Clarissa Drive, west for a distance of 40 feet. Boblee Lane – No Stopping
Here to Corner – east side – starting at the north curbline of Bethpage Road, north for
a distance of 40 feet; west side – starting at the north curbline of Bethpage Road, north
for a distance of 40 feet. LOCUST VALLEY – Hernan Avenue – No Stopping Here to
Corner – north side – starting at the east curbline of Bayville Road, east for a distance of
30 feet; south side – starting at the east curbline of Bayville Road, east for a distance of 30
feet. MASSAPEQUA – Elm Street – No Stopping Here to Corner – north side – starting
at the west curbline of Hicksville Road (Route 107), west for a distance of 40 feet; south
side – starting at the west curbline of Hicksville Road (Route 107), west for a distance of
35 feet. School Street – No Stopping Here to Corner – south side – starting at the east
curbline of Fairfield Road, east for a distance of 30 feet; south side – starting at the east
curbline of Roxbury Lane, east for a distance of 30 feet; south side – starting at the west
curbline of Roxbury Lane, west for a distance of 30 feet. Roxbury Lane – No Stopping
Here to Corner – west side – starting at the south curbline of School Street, south for a
distance of 30 feet; east side – starting at the south curbline of School Street, south for a
distance of 30 feet. Fairfield Road – No Stopping Here to Corner – east side – starting at
the south curbline of School Street, south for a distance of 30 feet. OYSTER BAY – School
Street – No Stopping Here to Corner – east side – starting at the south curbline of Summit Street, south for a distance of 78 feet. PLAINEDGE – Roosevelt Drive – No Stopping
Here to Corner – south side – starting at the west curbline of Stewart Avenue, west for a
































distance of 60 feet.
That the following locations be DELETED from SECTION 17-152 of the said Code:
BETHPAGE – Emma Street – No Stopping Here to Corner – north side – starting at the
east curbline of Stewart Avenue, east for a distance of 40 feet. MASSAPEQUA – School
Street – No Stopping Here to Corner – south side – starting at the east curbline of Fairfield
Road, east for a distance of 50 feet; south side – starting at the east curbline of Roxbury
Lane, east for a distance of 50 feet; south side – starting at the west curbline of Roxbury
Lane, west for a distance of 50 feet. Roxbury Lane – No Stopping Here to Corner – west
side – starting at the south curbline of School Street, south for a distance of 50 feet; east
side – starting at the south curbline of School Street, south for a distance of 50 feet. Farifield Road – No Stopping Here to Corner – east side – starting at the south curbline of
School Street, south for a distance of 50 feet. OYSTER BAY – School Street – No Stopping

That the following locations be ADDED to SECTION 17-165 of the said Code establishing NO PARKING ANYTIME which shall be appropriately designated by posted signs:
BETHPAGE – Park Avenue – No Parking Anytime – Fire Zone – east side – starting at a
point 120 feet north of the north curbline of Central Avenue, north for a distance of 144
feet. HICKSVILLE – Bay Avenue – No Parking Anytime – east side – starting at a point
132 feet north of the Long Island Railroad right of way, north for a distance of 60 feet.
That the following location be DELETED from SECTION 17-165 of the said Code; BETHPAGE – Park Avenue – No Parking Anytime – Fire Zone – east side – starting at a point
150 feet north of the north curbline of Central Avenue, north for a distance of 108 feet.
That the following locations be ADDED to SECTION 17-168 of the said Code establishing
LIMITED PARKING DURING CERTAIN DAYS OR HOURS, which shall be appropriately designated by posted signs: BETHPAGE – Park Avenue – 30 Minute Parking 7 am to
7 pm Except Sunday and Holidays – east side – starting at the north curbline of Central
Avenue, north for a distance of 120 feet. HICKSVILLE – Bay Avenue – Two Hour Parking 10 am to 4 pm except Saturday, Sunday and Holidays – east side – starting from the
Long Island Railroad right of way, north for a distance of 132 feet; east side – starting at a
point 192 feet north of the Long Island Railroad right of way, north to the south curbline
of Lottie Avenue, a distance of 269 feet.
That the following location be DELETED from SECTION 17-168 of the said Code establishing: BETHPAGE – Park Avenue – 30 Minute Parking 7 am to 7 pm except Sunday
& Holidays – east side – starting at the north curbline of Central Avenue, north for a
distance of 150 feet.
HICKSVILLE – Bay Avenue – Two Hour Parking 10 am to 4 pm except Saturday, Sunday
and Holidays – east side – starting from the Long Island Railroad right of way, north to
Lottie Avenue.
