NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed Proposals invited
by the Massapequa Water
District (MWD) will be
received by the Board
of Commissioners, of
the Massapequa Water
District, in the District
Office, 84 Grand Avenue,
Massapequa, New York on
Wednesday, August 1, 2012
until 9:15 A.M., at which
time the proposals will be
publicly opened and read
aloud at said place, for:
MASSAPEQUA WATER
DISTRICT
CLEANING, PAINTING
AND MISCELLANEOUS
REPAIRS OF 1,000,000
GALLON ELEVATED
STEEL WATER STORAGE
TANK
MAY PLACE
MASSAPEQUA,
NEW YORK
Contract No. 1266620
This contract consists of
the cleaning, painting and
miscellaneous repairs of
the May Place elevated steel
water storage tank including
either the total removal
of all existing exterior
coating, total containment,
new exterior coating,

miscellaneous structural
repairs, installation of
antenna and cable brackets
and supports, etc., or the
power washing of the
existing exterior coating,
total containment, new
exteriorcoatingviaovercoat,
miscellaneous structural
repairs, installation of
antenna and cable brackets
and supports, etc. The
contractors will furnish
all labor, and furnish and
install all materials and
equipment required to
complete the work.
Instructions to Bidders,
Proposal, Supplemental Bid
Forms, Form of Agreement,
General Conditions,
Specifications and the
Plans, herein called the
“Contract Documents”, may
be examined at the District
Office from 9:15 A.M., July
9, 2012 until 3:30 P.M. on
July 24, 2012, Mondays
to Fridays. Copies of the
Contract Documents will
be available at that time and
place indicated.
A fee of $100.00 by check or
money order, payable to the
Massapequa Water District,
will be required for each set
of the Contract Documents
requested. Prospective
bidders requesting contract
documents by mail must
remit an additional, nonrefundable, fee of $30.00
per set, to cover handling
and first class mailing. For

those Bidders that submit a
proper proposal per these
documents, and are not
successful, and return the
contract documents to
the MWD in usable good
condition within 30 days
following the award of the
contract; the full amount
of the fee will be returned
for the first set of contract
documents. No refund will
be made to non-bidders
or for contract documents
beyond the first set.
Wages and supplements
payable to all laborers,
workmen, and mechanics
on this project shall be
paid at the prevailing rates
established under the New
York State Labor Law.
NOTE: THERE WILL
BE A mandatory
SITE INSPECTION ON
monday , july 23, 2012
AT 10:00 AM, at the

site . This wil be
the only chance to
inspect the SITE. The
DISTRICT wil not
acept visits to the
site at any other
time .
