Three alarm blaze destroys Massapequa home

Firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze at a home on Clocks Boulevard in Massapequa April 9. The fire broke out shortly after 11 p.m. and when firefighters arrived the rear of the home was fully engulfed in flames. It quickly spread through the home and broke through the roof.

It took firefighters for Massapequa, South Farmingdale and North Massapequa, an hour to bring the blaze under control. The home had reportedly been servely damaged by Superstorm Sandy and had been vacant.

There were no serious injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s office.
