NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed Proposals invited by the Massapequa Water District (MWD) will be received by the Board of Commissioners, of the Massapequa Water District, in the District Office, 84 Grand Avenue, Massapequa, New York on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 until 4:00 P.M., at which time the proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud at said place, for: MASSAPEQUA WATER DISTRICT Installation of New Water Main – May Place – Park Blvd. – Bay Drive – Lagoon Blvd. MASSAPEQUA, NEW YORK Contract No. 1366627 This contract consists of the installation of approximately 5,500 lineal feet of 12-inch water distribution main. The pipe materials will consist of Class 52 DIP installed via trenching and DR9 HDPE installed via horizontal directional drilling. The contractors will furnish all labor, and furnish and install all materials and equipment required to complete the work. Instructions to Bidders, Proposal, Supplemental Bid Forms, Form of Agreement, General Conditions, Specifications and the Plans, herein called the “Contract Documents”, may be examined at the District Office from 9:15 A.M., July 15, 2013 until 3:30 P.M. on July 30, 2013, Mondays to Fridays. Copies of the

Contract Documents will be available at that time and place indicated. A fee of $100.00 by check or money order, payable to the Massapequa Water District, will be required for each set of the Contract Documents requested. Prospective bidders requesting contract documents by mail must remit an additional, nonrefundable, fee of $ 75.00 per set, to cover handling and first class mailing. For those Bidders that submit a proper proposal per these documents, and are not successful, and return the contract documents to the MWD in usable good condition within 30 days following the award of the contract; the full amount of the fee will be returned for the first set of contract documents. No refund will be made to non-bidders or for contract documents beyond the first set. Wages and supplements payable to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics on this project shall be paid at the prevailing rates established under the New York State Labor Law. LEGAL NOTICE TO THE TAXPAYERS OF THE MASSAPEQUA FIRE

DISTRICT: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a resolution was duly adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the MASSAPEQUA FIRE DISTRICT, Town of Oyster Bay, County of Nassau, State of New York, on the 8th day of July, 2013, subject to permissive referendum as provided for by the General Municipal law. An extract of the resolution is as follows: THE MASSAPEQUA FIRE DISTRICT SHALL PURCHASE 34 SETS OF FIRFIGHTING PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AT A COST, INCLUDING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH TRANSACTION NOT TO EXCEED NINETY FIVE THOUSAND ($95,000.00) DOLLARS WITH FUNDS FROM THE FIRE APPARATUS AND EQUIPMENT CAPITAL RESERVE FUND. This resolution shall not take effect until thirty (30) days, unless in the meanwhile a permissive referendum as provided by the General Municipal Law is required to be held.
