Timmy Solomito looked like he was going to continue his torrid place in September when he set fast time in time trials, won the pole and led 177 of 200 laps in the feature. However, with numerous cautions for wrecks and bent sheet metal, the Islip resident got victimized on one of the final restarts. Ryan Preece, a Tour and Riverhead regular, piloted his #16 modified past Solomito in the final 23 laps for the win.
In the Blunderbust feature, Jack Handley Jr. crossed the line first but later had the victory stripped during Tech Inspection. The win was awarded to Jimmy Whyte Jr.
In the INEX Legend Division, Kyle Soper scored his second victory of 2013.
FROM THE PITS: Riverhead is a competitive track, but competitors also respect each other. This was evident when Dave Brigati broke a rear end in his 98x modified. Crews from Turbush Racing, Sapienza Racing and others tried in vain to get Brigati back on the track.
