GAME POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER CONCERNS: Town of Oyster Bay to Host Senior Softball All-Star Game

Rescheduled for Wednesday

The Town of Oyster Bay will host the Long Island Senior Softball Association’s Division 5 All-Star Game at John J. Burns Park, located in Massapequa on Monday October 7, 2013 at 6 p.m. LISSA’s Division 5 is a league for players 68 years of age and older, with many players in their 80s taking the field. This game will feature some of Long Island’s best recreational softball players and will be played on the professionally maintained softball field at Burns Park, which is equipped with synthetic turf and lights.

Communities from across Long Island will be represented by the players and coaches selected to play in this event including Massapequa, Hicksville, Old Bethpage, Locust Valley, Port Washington, Seaford, Wantagh, New Hyde Park, Seaford, Mineola, Westbury, Floral Park and other neighborhoods throughout Nassau, Suffolk and Queens. Following the game, players will be available to the media for interviews.

Admission is free. In case of bad weather, a rain date of October 9 has been set.
