PUBLIC NOTICE
TO THE REGISTERED
VOTERS
AND RESIDENTS
OF THE
MASSAPEQUA WATER
DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY
GIVEN that pursuant to
the Town Law the following Resolution was duly
adopted on September 25,
2013 by the Board of Water
Commissioners of the
Massapequa Water District;
BE IT RESOLVED that
pursuant to Article 13 Section 212 of the Town Law
as amended, an election
of the Massapequa Water
District will be held within
said District in the office of
the Board of Water Commissioners of said District
at 84 Grand Avenue, Massapequa, Long Island, New
York, on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 between the
hours of four (4:00) o’clock
p.m. and nine (9:00) o’clock
p.m. for the purpose of the
election of a Water Commissioner

for the said District for a term of three (3)
years beginning January 1,
2014 and expiring December 31, 2016.
Every voter must be registered in the Town under
permanent registration and
registered from the address
from which he/she wishes
to vote in order to be entitled to vote for Improvement District Commissioner. Further, said voter
shall have been a resident
in the Water District for at
least thirty (30) days next
preceding the election and
be a citizen of the United
States, eighteen (18) years
or over in age.
Pursuant to the provisions
and requirements of Subdivision 20 of Section 215 of
Article 13 of the Town Law
of the State of New York, as
amended, candidates for
the office of Water Commissioner shall file their
names and nominations in
petition form with the Secretary of the Board of Water

Commissioners of the
Massapequa Water District
no later than 4:00 p.m. on
or before Friday, November 8, 2013 and that such
nomination petitions must
be subscribed by at least
twenty-five (25) registered
voters of the Massapequa
Water District.
Absentee ballots will be
available pursuant to Town
Law § 213-b. Absentee ballots must be received at the
District Headquarters located at 84 Grand Avenue,
Massapequa, New York no
later than 5:00 p.m. on the
date of the election pursuant to Town Law §213-
b(8).
