Call about gunshots in Massapequa unfounded, say police

The Nassau County Police Department’s 7th Precinct reported today that an investigation into a call about shots being fired in the Massapequa Preserve was “unfounded.”

The call went into to police at approximately 10:35 p.m., Mon., Nov. 11. The caller reported hearing the sound of gunshots.

Police responded with sector car operators, canine patrols and helicopters, scouring the area and trying to find the source of the incident. Despite their efforts, nothing was found,” said a police spokeswoman.
