Sign up now for Massapequa Turkey Trot

Fundraiser back following Hurricane Sandy

The Annual Massapequa Turkey Trot is being held Thanksgiving Day, Thurs., Nov. 28 and the community is invited to take part in this inspiring event.

The Turkey Trot was started by co-founder James Joseph who won his battle against Leukemia but, with others was committed to raising money  for the benefit of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).  One hundred percent of the profits from our race are given to LLS.

This year the race has special poignancy for the residents of Nassau Shores, co-founders Tom Foley and Brian Griffin included.  Due to the devastation of Tropical Storm Sandy, they were compelled to cancel last year's Turkey Trot.  But like James in his battle with cancer, they worked to overcome the obstacles!

“Massapequa is rising again and the Massapequa Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot is back,” said Foley.  “We sincerely hope that the community can join us on Thanksgiving morning.”

RACE FEES: 5K $26, includes long sleeve shirt; Fun run $12, includes short sleeve tee shirt.  Water and bagels provided after the race.  Please note that we can only provide shirts to runners registered on or before Nov. 22, 2013.  Runners registering after that date will not receive shirts.
