Nassau County, the Board
of Education of the Massapequa Union Free School
District, Massapequa, New
York, in accordance with
Section 103 of General Municipal Law, hereby invites
the submission of sealed
bids from reputable and
qualified contractors for the
provision of materials for
the following contract:
STORM DRAIN CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Bid Opening August 19,
2014, 11:00am
This is a cooperative bid.

Bids for the term of September 15, 2014 through June
30, 2015 will be received
until the above-stated hour
of prevailing time and date
at the office of Christine
Petrullo, Assistant Business
Administrator, Massapequa
Union Free School District, 4925 Merrick Road,
Massapequa, New York, at
which time and place all
bids will be publicly opened
and read aloud. Specifications and bid forms may be
obtained at the same office

beginning August 4, 2014,
Monday through Friday,
between the hours of 8:00
a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.
Bids must be presented on
the standard proposal form
in the manner designated
therein and as required by
the specifications. All bids
must be enclosed in sealed
envelopes which are clearly
marked on the outside:
“Massapequa Union Free
School District- Cooperative Bid for Storm Drain
Cleaning and Maintenance
Contract.” Bids shall remain
firm for a period of fortyfive (45) days following the
date of the bid opening.
Each Board of Education
reserves the right to waive
any informalities in or to
reject any or all bids, or to
accept that bid which, in
the Board of Education’s
judgment, is in the best interest of the School District.
The Boards of Education
further reserve the right to
consider experience, service and reputation in the
above-referenced fields.
In addition, the Boards of
Education reserve the right
to consider the financial
responsibility and specific
qualifications, set forth in
the bid specifications, of the
prospective bidder in evaluation of the bids and award
of the contracts.

foot on each side. Proposed
portico to be (11.5) feet at
its base with a roof line that
extends one (1) foot on
each side for a total width
of (13.5) feet. Village Code
Chapter 345-27 Height Restrictions which states walking structures of all external
stairways, decks, patios or
similar structures erected
shall be five (5) feet or less
above grade. Proposed second story deck is (8.92) feet
above grade. Proposed second story balcony is (9.48)
feet above grade. Village
Code Chapter 345-28(C)
Lot Coverage which states
maximum lot coverage allowed is 30%. Proposed lot
coverage is 35.58%.
