Juvenile arrested and charged with robbery in Massapequa

The Nassau County Police Department’s Seventh Squad detectives arrested a 14-year-old juvenile yesterday, charging him with a robbery that occurred in Massapequa on Sat., Aug. 6 at 1:15 p.m. A second subject is also being sought as the investigation continues.

According to detectives, a 16-year-old male was robbed at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Oakley Street by two unknown male subjects who he told police had been hanging out with them for several hours. The subjects struck the victim, causing him to fall to the ground.  They then brandished a handgun and removed the victim’s i-Phone and cash from his pockets, and told him to walk away.  The subjects were captured by a store surveillance earlier attempting to make a purchase.  No injuries were reported.
