shall be a minimum of two
(2) feet from the rear and
either side of the property
line. The furthest point of
a shed, be it the base or the
overhang, shall be a minimum of two (2) feet from
the rear and either side of
the property line of the subject premises. Existing vinyl
shed is located 1.3 feet to the
east property line. Existing
wood framed shed located
in the furthest (S) area of the
property is 140 square feet,
20 square feet larger than
allowed by code.
Chapter 345-41(H, J) Pools,

Walkways, Distances, which
states: An unobstructed
walk area not less than 24
inches wide shall be provided to extend entirely around
pools below grade. Also, no
portion of a pool, including
walkways, pump, filters,
showers, accessories or pool
water disinfectants shall be
located at a distance less
than five (5) feet from any
side or rear property line or
building setback line. Above
ground pool is located 4.2
feet from (east) property
line and appears to have zero
setback from furthest front
foundation line.
Chapter 345-31 (A) Rear
and Side Yards which states:
must maintain a 15 foot rear
yard setback for all structures; existing rear yard deck
on grade is located 1.3 feet to
rear (S) property line.

Such proposal violates Village Code Chapter 345-31
(C2) Distances Between

maintained. Proposed six
(6) foot fence is to be located
in same exact location as
current illegal four (4) foot
solid fence which is 23’-4”
from east foundation line,
and 2.0 feet from east property

line.

condenser in the second

This contract consists of
installation of a new iron reocean

moval facility at Massapequa
Water District’s Northeast
Well Field Site. Also included within this Project is the
construction of a new building for housing the iron removal facility; construction
of an underground equalization tank; removal and
replacement of the existing
caustic tanks; appurtenant
piping for connection from
Well No. 3 and Well No. 8 to
the iron removal facility and
into the distribution system;
upgraded security system;
and appurtenant instrumentation and controls as
depicted on the construction
drawings and as stated in the
technical specifications. The
contractors will furnish all
labor, and furnish and install
all materials and equipment
required to complete the
work.
Instructions to Bidders,
Proposal, Supplemental Bid
Forms, Form of Agreement,
General Conditions, Specifications and the Plans, herein
called the “Contract Documents”, may be examined
at the District Office from
11 A.M., October 5, 2017
until 3:30 P.M. on November
3, 2017, Mondays to Fridays. Copies of the Contract
Documents will be available at that time and place
indicated.
A fee of $100.00 by check or
money order, payable to the
Massapequa Water District,
will be required for each set
of the Contract Documents
requested. Prospective bidders requesting contract
documents by mail must
remit an additional, nonrefundable, fee of $30.00 per
set, to cover handling and
first class mailing. For those
Bidders that submit a proper
proposal per these documents, and are not successful, and return the contract
documents to the MWD
in usable good condition
within 30 days following
the award of the contract;
the full amount of the fee
will be returned for the first
set of contract documents.
No refund will be made to
non-bidders or for contract
documents beyond the first
set.
Wages and supplements
payable to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics on this
project shall be paid at the
prevailing rates established
under the New York State
Labor Law.

DISTRICT ANNUAL
BUDGET FOR 2018
WHEREAS, on the 25th
day of September, 2017,
pursuant to Section 105 of
the Town Law and Section
181 of the Town Law the
Board of Fire Commissioners of the Massapequa Fire
District confirmed that the
Annual Fire District Budget
Hearing will be conducted
with reference to the Annual
Fire District Budget for fiscal
year 2018 on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 commencing at
7:30 p.m. at the Fire District
Administration Building
located at 1 Brooklyn Avenue, Massapequa, New
York 11758 and
WHEREAS, the Board of
Fire Commissioners is required to adopt a proposed
budget at least 21 days before October 17, 2017 so
that it is available for public
inspection prior to the budget hearing.
NOW, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of
Fire Commissioners of the
Massapequa Fire District has
adopted a Proposed Annual
Fire District Budget for 2018
as of this date for purposes
of discussion and review at
the Budget Hearing to be
held on October 17, 2017
and a copy of the proposed
budget is available at the office of the Town Clerk of the
Town of Oyster Bay and at
the office of the Massapequa
Fire District Secretary at the
Fire District Administration
Building located at 1 Brooklyn Avenue, Massapequa,
New York 11758, where it
may be inspected by any
interested person during
office hours. In addition, a
copy of the proposed budget

will be posted on the fire
district’s website, and copies
of the proposed budget will
be available on the night of
the said hearing.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the aforesaid budget
will be presented to the
residents and taxpayers of
the Massapequa Fire District and to the Board of
Fire Commissioners of the
Massapequa Fire District,
for their respective consideration at this public hearing and for the purpose of
considering the said resolution and hearing all persons
interested in the subject
concerning same on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 commencing at 7:30 p.m. at the
