Another nor 'easter hits our area

Warming centers open


With a nor’easter impacting our region, Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino today opened the following Warming Centers until 11p.m. this evening: Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center (Community Room) – 1001 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage; Marjorie Post Community Park (Community Room) – Unqua & Merrick roads, Massapequa.

Supervisor Saladino reminds residents that individuals in need of emergency housing may contact the Nassau County Winter Homeless Hotline – 1-866-WARMBED, which is open and operates seven days a week through March 31. 

Between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Monday thru Thursday, and Friday from 6:00 p.m. thru Monday at 8:00 a.m., employees from the Department of Social Services (DSS) will make appropriate referrals and provide shelter placement.
